Program Overview
There is something for everyone!
Peace believe that Christian education is a life long process. Our program begins with church school for toddlers (walkers through two year olds) and continues through Faith Journey, Confirmation, and on-going Adult Education.
Kids
Toddlers
Our program begins with church school for toddlers (walkers through three-year olds). This class includes play which is their work and an easy craft and a Bible story. The teachers are committed to creating a loving atmosphere for all of the children.
Pre-School
The Pre-School class is designed for children who will go to kindergarten within the next two following years. It is more structured and includes crafts, stories, and application of the Bible story to their lives. The teachers in this class are highly dedicated to good Christian education and have a strong faith to share with the children.
K through 5 - Faith Journey
For kids age kindergarten through the fifth grade, church school takes a different look called Faith Journey. The curriculum is Bible-based and used the various intelligences as the basis for learning. Each week the children experience the stories through drama, art, science, or games. Peace believes that this approach allows children to learn through the method that is best suited to them. This is an EXCITING approach to Sunday morning and, oftentimes, kids are encouraging their parents to get them to church!
Youth
6th Grade - Pre-confirmation
The Sixth grade students are involved in the youth programming and consequently have their Sunday morning Christian education separate as “Pre-Confirmation”. This class is geared to learning the basics of the faith emphasizing the use and understanding of the Bible. These fundamentals serve as an excellent springboard for the following two years of confirmation.
7th & 8th Grade - Confirmation
Confirmation is a key point in an individual’s life; it is the time when young people can make the decisions for themselves and accept Christ as their Saviour on their own merit. Our confirmation classes blend solid Biblical study and investigation into God’s word with activities designed to “frame” our beliefs. Confirmation classes attend worship services in various other denominations and religions to gain a better understanding of how Christianity began and how it relates to other mainstream belief systems. Ultimately, it is our desire to celebrate with each 8th grade graduate as they - with a better understanding of Christianity - decide that their life will be dedicated to God and his work in His kingdom.
Adults
Christian Instruction
Adult Education includes the following study opportunities. However, be sure to check the calendar for these and all other church events.
Time: Tuesday Mornings, 10:30a -11:30a
Location: Peace Village
Pastor Reif will continue his very successful Bible study at Peace Village. This is open to any individuals wishing to have an interactive Bible study during the daytime. Each session addresses a specific passage and how it applies to each person.
Time: Thursdays, Noon until 2:00
Location: Peace Residences (Evergreen Park)
Pastor Gordon will lead a “Brown Bag Bible study” at the Residences. This study will be examining the book of Luke. Bring a lunch and enjoy good Bible study and fellowship.
Time: Thursday Evenings, 7:00pm - 8:30pm
Location: Family Life Center - Peace Campus
Pastor Reif will be leading a class at the Family Life Center for people who wish to look at scripture and how that scripture applies to their lives. This opportunity will be an informal class with refreshments served.
